Transcode 360
Transcode 360 is a program that allows you to playback ripped DVDs, Divx, or Xvid files on an extenderi. This is a very basic guide and may not meet everyone's needs. If you have other recommendations, tweaks, or setting changes, please add them to this guide.
Installation
- Download the latest version from http://transcode360.co.uk/files/default.aspx (was version 1.6.3 at the time of writting).
- Extract the files from the .zip file that you downloaded
- To extract files, just double click the .zip file that you downloaded, and click and drag "Transcode360Setup.exe" onto your desktop
- Run "Transcode360Setup.exe" and accept and/or allow all notifications that it gives you.
- Go through the setup like you would for any other program ("Accept", "Next", "I Agree", etc.)
- On the "Configure Transcoding and Broadcast Service" just leave everything on the default settings (as shown):
- Leave "Run service with local system permissions" selected (default setting) and click "Install"
- Select "Reboot Now"
Using Transcode 360
- Start Media Center on your Xbox
- Go to your Video Library (under "Pictures + Videos")
- Highlight the video that you want to play and click the "Info" button on your remote
- Select "More"
- Select "Transcode 360"
- Wait for a few seconds while it starts and enjoy :-)
