Tips and Tricks

You can use the "OK" button (big button in the center for those of you who are a bit slow) to go to the previous channel while watching live TV.
"Skip" during live or recorded TV to go ahead 30 seconds. During music this will go to the next track. During DVDs this will go to the next chapter.
"Replay" will go back 7 seconds. During music this will go to the previous track. During DVDs this will go to the previous chapter.
"Enter" is a completely worthless button as it does the same thing as "OK"

Reprogram the Volume and TV Power Buttons

Aim MCE remote at your AV remote (2/3" apart)
Press & hold "DVD Menu" + "OK" on MCE remote until lights go off
press Vol- on the MCE remote (lights should blink once)
Press and hold Vol- on the AV remote until lights on MCE lights blink twice (if it blinks 4 times there was a problem)

Do the same procedure to program the Vol+ button.

Reset Remote Defaults

Remove the batteries from the remote
Use a metal object (e.g. a paperclip) and short the battery terminals (a couple of seconds should be fine)
Remove paperclip
Replace batteries

Quick Tip

In the Guide, press FF/REW on the remote to skip forward/back 3 hours at a time.

In the Guide, press Skip/Replay on the remote to skip forward/back 12 hours at a time.

With a picture on screen, press "Info" (or "More") on the remote and select "Rotate" to rotate it.

Press "Clear" on the remote to delete the media that is currently highlighted (works for Recorded TV, Videos, Music, and Pictures).

Use the channel +/- buttons on the remote to browse the guide a page at a time.

While in the guide press the Record button on the remote twice to do a series recording.

With an album, video, or recorded show highlighted, simply hit "Play" on the remote to start it playing immediately - faster than pressing "OK" and then selecting "Play" on the menu.

In the picture library, highlight the folder or tag you want, then press "Play" on the remote to start a slideshow.

Pressing "OK" on the remote while watching Live TV will go to the previous channel.
